Comments on Acts 24 v2 "great quietness", i.e., peace. v6-8 "and would have judged...to come unto thee", this text is absent in many Greek manuscripts. v11 "twelve days", the day of arrival at Jerusalem, the nearly seven days of purification (five or six?), then the few days of imprisonment after the riot. v18 "Jews from Asia", Paul is pointing out that his present accusers are not the original accusers and were not eye witnesses to the events. This is a legal infraction, as is pointed out in v. 19. v22 "of that way", i.e., Christianity. v26 Circumstantial evidence suggests Paul came from a wealthy family, thus Felix was probably anticipating bribery. If not from him or his family, then perhaps from the pooled resources of the Christians. Copyright © 2002 by S. Kurt Neumiller . All rights reserved.
