Comments on Luke 6:12-16 These verses tick off the names of the Twelve apostles, or "special witnesses". However, there are two points of interest herein. The first being v. 12 where Jesus prays over the selection of the Twelve, showing his deliberacy. And the second being that Iscariot is presently not presented as a louse. The KJV says of Iscariot, "which also was the traitor", which doesn't well represent what the author intended. A better translation would be "who became a traitor" (NAS, AB). His character at present is not yet that of a traitor, he changes over the course of time to become a traitor. Copyright © 2002 by S. Kurt Neumiller . All rights reserved.
