Comments on Matthew 10 v1-4 Jesus selects and commissions the Twelve apostles. v5-15 Jesus gives them instruction concerning who to proselyte and how to interact with them. v16-39 Jesus warns them there will be opposition, persecution, and conflict. He tells them not to succumb, but to rely on God as He is watching over them to tell them what to say and to protect them in their ministry. v34-39 A disciple must be willing to abandon even his family if needs be for the Kingdom. v40-42 They are granted the vicarious authority of God.
