Comments on chapter 12 This chapter is not suppossed to be covered by the lesson, but is worthy of review. The chapter is composed of Samuel's address to Israel warning them and their king to be obedient to the Lord's commands. If they fail to be, then they will be cursed. Samuel's admonition occurs right at the pinacle of Saul's rise in popularity, and immediately before his meteoric fall. Thus, Samuel's prophetic admonition is predictive in nature and serves as a turning point between Saul's rise and fall. Immediately after this Saul goes on the be quite disobedient and the result is Israel is thrust into all kinds of problems. Copyright © 2002 by S. Kurt Neumiller . All rights reserved.
